Thoughts on Nets vs Heat (preseason)
-Tonight the Heat paid tribute to Jose Fernandez with a pregame moment of silence and memorial shooting shirts.
-Wayne Ellington and Derrick Williams got the start tonight. It was the first time this preseason that both players started.
-Williams and Ellington looked very comfortable playing in the starting lineup with each player scoring in double digits. Dragic also played well alongside them.
-For the third straight game, Hassan Whiteside dominated the first quarter. He had 11points, 5rebounds, and 1 block. Whiteside finished the night with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks.
-Dragic also had a double double with 17 points and 11 assists.

-Uneven game for Justise Winslow who fouled out tonight. He finished the game with five points, seven rebounds, and four assists in 22 minutes of action.
-Much of the talk has been about who would fill the shooting guard and power forward positions in the starting lineup. However, the Heat also need to figure out that second unit as well. The Nets began to make their run when the Heat put in their second unit.
-After trailing the Nets by 11, the Heat then scored 7 unanswered points before the first half ended.
-Tyler Johnson continues to replace Goran Dragic as the point guard. Johnson still doesn't look too comfortable playing the point guard position. There may be games where the Heat might need Udrih to get the team into the offense.
-Better third quarter than the last game against the Minnesota T'Wolves. The Heat outscored the Nets 38-17 in the quarter. Coming out of halftime, the Heat made adjustments defensively by closing out harder on the Brooklyn shooters.
-Next up, the San Antonio Spurs on Friday at 8:30pm eastern time.
