The Colorado Avalanche are reportedly going to shop all of their players this offseason. Now while that sounds like a team rebuilding, that is not necessarily the case. In fact, the team is just simply exploring all options to improve the roster to field a playoff contender next year.

When asked, Avalanche GM Joe Sakic said that "no one is untouchable" on the roster and even made another interesting comment as well, saying "Wayne Gretzky got traded-- twice".

Sakic also did state that head coach Patrick Roy will return next season.

Now so far the only player in specifics that we have heard that is on the trade block is Forward Matt Duchene. Duchene has been the subject of trade rumors since the beginning of the 2015-2016 season and even Duchene himself said he will not be surprised if the Avs trade him this offseason. He would surely fetch a nice return for the Avs in the event that a trade does happen.

Other possible trade candidates for Colorado would be Jarome Iginla, Semyon Varlomov, Blake Comeau, and Erik Johnson.
