Some of the latest out of Edmonton;

-Speculation that Connor McDavid could become the next Captain of the Edmonton Oilers is picking up steam as we get closer to the season and it's likely going to happen. While nothing has been officially announced, Edmonton would like the next face of their franchise to be the new captain as well.

-The Oilers have expressed interest in signing former all-star forward Mike Richards. Richards played with the Capitals last season and before was an expensive player for the Kings who ended up being bought out. If Richards can put up anything close to his numbers way back when he was a Flyer, the Oilers could make good on a low-cost one-year deal.

-Probably something Oilers fans don't want to hear but, with defenseman Mark Fayne's significant decline since joining the Oilers from none other than, the Devils, could this be a sign that trading for Adam Larsson was a bad idea? There's many reason's as to why we can shoot that down but the Edmonton Journal has a piece about why this could spell a problem for the Oilers.
