A couple of quick notes from the Metro division:

-The Washington Capitals remain patient in their attempt to re-sign RFA defenseman Dmitry Orlov. While Orlov wants to stay in the NHL, he may head to the KHL if he doesn't get the type of contract he is looking for from the Capitals.

-The New York Islanders have a strict policy for their players under control who don't want to re-sign with them through training camp and the preseason. That policy will be applied to Ryan Strome, as if he continues to drag on contract talks until the start of the regular season, the team will suspend him for the entire 2016-17 season, which would cause a big blow to both Strome and the team. To make matters worse, it will only cause plenty more issues between both sides, as things could get very ugly if that indeed does happen.
