?Notes from around the league;

-While talking to reporters, New Oilers captain Connor McDavid said that he is "Honoured and Humbled" to wear the "C" for Edmonton. McDavid was named the Oilers captain yesterday and became the youngest captain in NHL history.

-Despite still not having a contract, Sabres Defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen is in camp with the team. Ristolainen says he is not happy that he still doesn't have a contract, but remains professional about the situation.

-The Anaheim Ducks and Tampa Bay Lightning are in similar situations, with both teams needing to re-sign key RFA's with limited money. It will most likely come down to trading somebody to make room for signings. Kucherov is the key player the Lightning still have to sign and Hampus Lindholm and Rickard Rakell are the key players the Ducks have to sign.
