?Some notes from around the league;

-After an ugly collision into the boards last night, Sabres forward Evander Kane was taken to the hospital and was treated for multiple rib injuries. Kane is out indefinitely.

-In more devastating news for Sabres fans, Jack Eichel's status still does not look good after suffering an ankle injury in practice. He was initially expected to miss 4-6 weeks, but that timetable has changed to 6-8 weeks.

-On a lighter note, congrats to Jets forward Patrik Laine on scoring his first career NHL goal last night against the Carolina Hurricanes!

-The Pittsburgh Penguins raised their championship banner last night, and in more Penguins news, the team is no longer for sale, according to the Penguins CEO.
