Let's get the day started with a few notes on some young stars around the league;

-Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen suffered an ankle sprain, but is expected to be ready for the season. The Avs have high hopes in the 19-year old Finnish forward, who is expected to be a big part of the future in Colorado.

-Jesse Puljujarvi has already made a big impact in training camp with the Oilers thus far, and that certainly bodes well for an Oilers team that hopes the 4th overall pick in the 2016 draft can make an immediate impact this season, and for many years to come.

-Nothing new to report on Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba, but nonetheless, expect the two sides to agree on some type of contract before the season starts. A trade seems unlikely to this point.
