?Notes around the league;

-The Chicago Blackhawks have had discussions with the Edmonton Oilers about a trade for forward Nail Yakupov, according to reports. Whether or not those discussions are still going on is unclear, but the fact that the Oilers are still discussing Yakupov makes it clear that they are still trying to trade the Russian forward.

-Panthers forward Nick Bjugstad is out for 3-4 weeks after suffering a broken hand. With that timeline, Bjugstad will no doubt miss the beginning of the regular season for the Panthers.

-Rickard Rakell and the Ducks have had talks recently about a new contract for the RFA forward, but talks have not progressed. With the regular season closing in, Rakell and the Ducks will need to get something done soon if Anaheim wants to see him take the ice with them to start the season.
