Speculation Notes; Pacioretty To Be Traded?, Kris Russell Saga, Nikita Kucherov Contract, Ducks Cap Issues

It's time to speculate!...

-Things continue to get uglier and uglier in Montreal and with the latest "rumors" around Pacioretty and head coach Michel Therrien, could Max be on his way out of Montreal too?

While it's unlikely to happen due both in part because Montreal wants to compete and due to the fact that the report about Pacioretty and Therrien is likely a false report, Montreal could have thoughts of dealing Pacioretty if they completely bomb this upcoming season and feel a rebuild is necessary.

-Kris Russell has still yet to sign with a team, which may be due to the World Cup currently taking place. However, once he does finally sign, I wouldn't find it surprising if he ends up taking a one-year deal if it's from a cup contender.

-Nikita Kucherov is focused on the World Cup right now, but once the World Cup ends, he will still be without a contract from the Lightning. My guess is it won't be long before Kucherov starts fielding offers from KHL teams to help pressure the Lightning into getting some sort of contract done.

-The Ducks still have to re-sign two key RFA's in Rickard Rakell and Hampus Lindholm, but they are low on cap room and will need to make space to accomodate the signings. Trading Cam Fowler has been the popular decision by many, but so far Anaheim has yet to find anything sufficient in trade talks.
