Some breaking news to report;

-The New York Islanders have agreed to re-sign forward Ryan Strome to a 2-year/$5MM deal. Strome had an underwhelming second season in the NHL last year which affected his free agency with the Islanders in getting a significant pay raise and a long-term deal.

-Dallas Stars forward Valeri Nichushkin has agreed to a 2-year deal with CSKA Moscow in the KHL and thus, will end his short time in the NHL. Nichushkin was a high draft pick by the Stars, but never panned out as hoped and he will now look to create a strong career back in his home country in Russia. Nichushkin's big reason for leaving was due in part to the fact that he did not want to play under Lindy Ruff, as he clashed with the Stars head coach over playing time.
