?Some notes on the NHL's newest team, the Vegas Golden Knights, via Kevin Allen of USA Today Sports;

-Knights' GM George McPhee says the team has not begun its search for the team's first head coach. In fact, the team may not even hire a coach until after the completion of the regular season. Ralph Krueger, Bob Hartley, and Kevin Dineen are among the speculative names that could be considered.

-NHL teams can only protect one goalie from the expansion draft, which gives Vegas plenty of quality goaltenders from which to choose from. Among the names they could select include Semyon Varlamov, Marc-Andre Fleury, Jimmy Howard, Roberto Luongo, and Thomas Greiss.

-On the skater side of things, McPhee plans to prioritize younger players or veterans that he can move to other teams for draft picks.
