HurricaneDij's Eye-Opening Stat of Early 2019:

^That would be Albers' rebounding average for the month of January - As a 5'4" guard! As scrappy a basketball player as she is, Albers also possesses a soft touch from the outside, and is one of my favorite players in the region. Plus, she has great genes. Her older brother Cade, a 2018 graduate, is a legend in Westville. "Coco" may not be the most glamorous young lady in the world, but man, is she ever immensely talented. While she did not shoot the blistering percentages as a junior that she did as a sophomore, she had connected on a still-solid 31 percent of her three-pointers during the 2018-19 season, including one in the sectional loss against eventual state-champion Michigan City Marquette.

Being an afterthought is nothing new for Albers. Not only is her brother the biggest star in her family, but she is also somewhat overshadowed on her own team by the Weston sisters. It will be interesting to see what Coco has in store for next year as a senior. Four threes in one game perhaps? It is certainly a feasible possibility, just as long as I don't get myself in trouble with coach Goeringer on that one;)

Also having played center field on Westville's softball team, Albers hit .394 with a slugging percentage .484 of last spring as a sophomore.
