NWI Softball Recap (Week of 4/18 - 4/25)
- Though she was still batting .400 by the end of the game, it was a rough go for Morgan Hoppe on Tuesday facing Indiana State commit Lexi Benko and Chesterton. Hoppe struck out twice in the game, but came through with a significant fielder's choice in the fifth inning that eventually plated a run to give Lake Central a 3-0 lead in an eventual 4-1 win.
- Whiting's Abby Toth drove in three runs in their 17-1 win at Plymouth last week. She added a double in the Oilers' loss at Hanover Central on Monday. Sydney Maley hit her third home run of the season and had seven RBI in the Plymouth game.
- LaPorte third baseman Morgan Keen hit a home run and added three base on balls to her cumulative stat line over the week, raising her on-base percentage to .388 on the season. Morgan also smacked double, recorded four putouts on defense, and was hit by a pitch during her team's 13-1 win at Merrillville on Wednesday. Way to take one for the team - She would eventually come around and score after being hit, and now has 11 RBI this season as well. #KeepItKeen
