Welcome to JagerBombs Fantasy Sports Blog CFL picks where Ryan Couckuyt(@curlmonster7 on Twitter) will bring you his weekly game breakdowns and top picks. Let's jump in and see what he has in store this week.

Hello football fans and welcome to Week 3 of CFL action. We have a four-game slate for you this week on Draftkings, with the first game starting at 7 pm et on Thursday. No NFL, no problem. Fasten your seat belts for some exciting football in the Great North. Let’s get started with some picks shall we?

B.C. Lions at Montreal Alouettes Game Breakdown

Thursday night’s game has a low projected total of 49.5 points, with B.C. currently listed as -2.5 point road favourites. Both teams have records of 1-1 so far. The Lions are ranked first in the league in rushing after two weeks with an average of 113.5 yards per game and Montreal is second with 102.0. Look for a fairly low-scoring, grind it out affair here. It should be a very close game.

B.C. Lions Players to target

Jeremiah Johnson (RB) $7,400

This guy is my favorite RB this week against a shaky Alouette rush defense who ranked dead last in the CFL last season. Johnson already has 162 rush yards with two TD’s and six catches for 50 yards. He has also averaged 21 Draftkings points per game. The stud back is an elite play in all formats this week.

Bryan Burnham (WR) $6,100

The veteran slotback caught nine passes for 118 yards last week to give him 13 on 20 targets for 161 yards in two games. He isn’t a popular target in the red zone, but he’s very fast and if he gets loose a couple of times, then he could have a monster day. I don’t trust him in cash games against a very good Montreal pass defense, but he’s a solid GPP play.

Montreal Alouettes player to target

Tyrell Sutton (RB) $6,200

There is almost nothing to love for DFS purposes for the Alouttes, but the Lions have a weak rush defense and Sutton has ran for 162 yards in two games so far. This could very well be the week that he gets his first TD. If you can’t afford Johnson for some reason, then Sutton should exceed value at this reasonable price. He doesn’t see many targets in the passing game though, so keep that in mind.

Calgary Stampeders at Winnipeg Blue Bombers Game Breakdown

This could very well be the highest scoring game and most exciting of the week! Vegas thinks so as they have the total currently set at 59.0 with the Stamps listed as -3.5 favorites. The Bombers beat the Riders in OT by a score of 43-40 last week (No, that`s not a typo,) and the Stampeders beat Ottawa 43-39 (Wow!) The Stampeders are ranked 7th with 348.5 passing yards allowed and 3rd with 329 passing yards scored. The Blue Bombers are ranked 8th with 362 passing yards allowed per game, so this game should be a barn burner. Bombs Away!

Calgary Stampeders players to target

Bo-Levi Mitchell (QB) $10,800

The Stamps` signal caller is called ``Mr Consistent`` for a reason. He has a very low floor from week to week due to his patience and his dead-eye accuracy. He already has 671 passing yards and five TD`s with no interceptions. The Bombers give up a lot of yards through the air which just sweetens the deal here. Bo-Levi Mitchell is an elite cash game play. He will be popular, so we will look elsewhere in GPP`s.

Kamar Jorden (WR) $6,200

The second year receiver has caught three touchdown passes in two games. He has only secured eight of 16 targets but they have totaled 143 yards. He has been his QB`s favorite red-zone target so far and look for the same this week. If Daniels plays then he`s a little less attractive but I`m going to have a hard time keeping him out of every one of my lineups in all formats.

DaVaris Daniels (WR) $8,000

Daniels is currently listed as questionable, but he practiced on Tuesday so that`s decent news for him. If he does play, then he takes a lot of targets away from his mates and the situation will be cloudy here. He caught four of six passes for 90 yards before he got injured in week one. Keep an eye on this situation in Calgary.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers players to target

Matt Nichols (QB) $8,600

The Bombers rewarded this guy with a nice contract in the offseason and they may have done the right thing. Last week, Nichols threw for 331 yards and four TD`s. This game has a total of just under 60 points. Sign me up. He`s an awesome GPP play as the majority will flock to Bo-Levi.

Darvin Adams (WR) $7,500

Here is one half of the deadly duo in Peg City. The other half is next. This guy caught five of nine passes for 77 yards and a score last week. Last year in two games vs. Calgary, he absolutely went off with 14 catches on 22 targets for 171 yards and 2 scores. Fire him up in all formats and relax.

Weston Dressler (WR) $8,300

Here is the other half. Westy was on fire against his old team last week as he hauled in six of eight passes for a whopping 124 yards and two TD`s. Last year at home vs. the Stamps, Dressler caught 12 of 15 passes for 118 yards and a TD. I will have a giant helping of Dressler this week in all formats.

Toronto Argonauts at Ottawa Redblacks Game Breakdown

Here we have a good ol` battle of Ontario rivalry to start off Saturday`s double header. Toronto got brought back down to Earth last week by B.C. which puts them 1-1 on the year and Ottawa is 0-1-1 after two high scoring, tight affairs with a tough Calgary squad. The Total is currently at 56.0 and Ottawa are -4.0 home favourites. Look for some points to be scored in this game as well.

Toronto Argonauts players to target

Armanti Edwards (WR) $5,700

The salary people messed up somewhere here. Let`s take advantage while we can. Edwards has caught all 16 of his targets for 209 yards and a TD. He has already earned Ricky Ray`s trust two games into the season. At these prices, Edwards is a great play in all formats.

Devier Posey (WR) $6,100

Okay, I can understand this guy still being cheap and all, because he is still an unknown guy. But he has NFL experience which is huge. Posey has caught 12 of 20 passes for 209 yards and a TD in two games. I like Edwards slightly better, but Posey should be low owned, so fire him up in your gpp lineups.

Ottawa Redblacks players to target

Trevor Harris (QB) $10,400

The Redblacks` gunslinger is on fire and both of his games have been against a tough Calgary team. Harris already has 725 yards and five TD`s and only one interception. He has a sore thumb apparently so he`s not too safe, but he could help you win a tourney or two this week.

Brad Sinopoli (WR) $6,800

Greg Ellingson (WR) $6,700

These guys just belong together here. They both have 15 receptions for 199 yards. Ellingson has seen six more targets and Sinopoli has a TD, Ellingson doesn`t. Pick your poison here in all formats. They`re both very tough fades.

Mossis Madu (RB) $5,400

William Powell was injured last week, so this guy took advantage as he ran 13 times for 74 yards and a TD and had another TD called back on a questionable holding call. He is too cheap for all formats this week. If Powell is healthy and he starts, then consider him at $4600.

Hamilton Tigercats at Saskatchewan Roughriders

This week, we have two exciting games sandwiched in between two that should help me get some sleep. This is one of those potentially boring games. Who knows though. They are both weak teams that are trying to find their identities. Saskatchewan is 0-2 and Hamilton is 0-1 with three quarters of their WR`s on the shelf full of bandages. We won`t spend much time here.

Hamilton Tigercats players to target

Luke Tasker (WR) $8,700

One of the few healthy receivers in Steel City, Tasker is going to get force fed footballs this week, even if he is triple teamed. He caught seven passes for 77 yards in week one and he should have a solid week once again.

Saskatchewan Roughriders players to target

Nic Demski (WR) $4,600

Actually, this young man will probably make a large majority of my cash game lineups this week, because of his low price. He has caught 14 of 14 passes so far for 169 yards and a TD. Caleb Holley is injured this week, so he should also get a few more targets.

A quick note on DST

I didn`t mention defenses last week because it is pretty much a crap shoot. There are usually a lot of points scored in a CFL game, so look for a team that forces a lot of turnovers and have a decent special teams unit. Good luck. My two favorite plays this week are B.C. and Ottawa.
