DFS PGA Tournament Recap - Farmers Insurance Open

Despite the lack of some of the games top players on the weekend, we were treated to another amazing Sunday afternoon on the PGA Tour. Brandt Snedeker and Patrick Rodgers shared the 54 hole lead going into Sunday and were two of nine players to sit atop the leaderboard throughout the day. While no one at the top of the leaderboard looked like they wanted to take command it was John Rahm with an incredible surge to take home the title. After a one under 35 on the front nine, Rahm tore up Torrey Pines on the back nine with two birdies and two eagles for six under par 30!!! This gave him the clubhouse lead that no one would come close to. It was Rahm's first PGA Tour win at age 22 and it appears very likely it won't be his last. Here is a quick recap of the final round:

From a DFS perspective, it was a positive tournament although it could have been much better. I went into the final round with four three lineups with 6/6 and was sitting 3rd in the $1 Short Game and floated around 2nd-15th for most of the day. I had Rose, Snedeker and Howell all in the hunt but with Rahm winning and Streelman struggling to a 78, I ended up 43rd(lineup posted below). I ended up cashing 12 of my 50 lineups in the Short Game which I will take as a win for the week as I was HEAVY on Dustin Johnson and Jason Day. I also cashed in the $12 Albatross, and $3/$5 three entry max and a bunch of other Single Entry tournies with a lineup that ended up with just 4 of 6 on Sunday(Swafford MC & Laird MDF).

More than the small addition to my bankroll, I am finding that each week I am getting better with my process of not only research but also lineup construction. I will be writing about each of these topics in the very near future. Stay tuned.

Below is a look at both the Top 20 in Ownership and Draftkings points for the Farmers Insurance Open. The column directly right of the name is the golfer's average ownership/DK Points for the season. The average is looking at all tourneys since the SBS Tournament of Champions.

And with that it's time to go finish the sheet and complete research for the Waste management Phoenix Open. The article and FREE Beta cheatsheet and trends sheet will be ready to roll Tuesday afternoon and can be viewed over at www.DFSR.com.
