Costly Turnover

I was very shocked to learn that the Houston Texans had not scored a defensive touchdown all season until today against the Jacksonville Jaguars. But hey, if you are going to do it against somebody, why not make it the Jaguars? The Texans also earned their first road win of the season leaving them atop the AFC South at 6-3. However, the Jaguars seemed to have some fight in them as they almost came back and won the football game after a rocky start (Blake Bortles threw a pick-six that was returned 43 yards for the first score of the game). Bortles responded the ensuing drive with a touchdown strike to Julius Thomas.

The Jaguars then would trail 14-10 at halftime. They did a good job of trading punches with the Houston Texans. Every time the Texans would score it seemed like the Jaguars responded. The Texans extended their lead to 24-13 with a 51 yard field goal from Nick Novak with 8:32 to play. Bortles would then lead an 8 play 92 yard drive that ended with an Allen Robinson touchdown. However, that is where the game would end because the Texans didn't allow them to score in the remaining 2:00. The 2-7 Jacksonville Jaguars head to Detroit this week to play the Lions who are in the hunt to win the NFC North division. Better bring your A game, Jaguars.
