Patience is a Virtue

Shad Khan, the current owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise, is a much more patient person than I am; or so it seems. Rebuilding DOES take time, but how much time are you willing to wait? Below, I have constructed a table of every season since 2012. Here, you will find wins/losses correlating to the season. Let's see if you pick up on the same trend as I...

Wins/Loss

Where is the growth? Where is the evidence that your team is getting better? I do not think there is any. The first season was under Mike Mularkey and his staff. Then Gus Bradley took over and has yet to produce a season that yielded 6 wins. 6 WINS (if I could put a voice recording of me yelling "6", I would). I have mentioned many times how hopeful I was of the Jaguars this season. With their acquisitions in free-agency as well as the draft, this looked to be the year in which the Jacksonville Jaguars turned people's heads. Unfortunately, that has yet to happen. When your win total has no indication of increasing in four seasons, I think it is time to move on. But Shad Khan does not seem think so; at least not mid-season. And quite honestly that is all that matters. It is his team, and he can absolutely do whatever he wants to with it.

Ever heard of too much of a good thing? I think Shad Khan has had too much patience in this situation. Usually, we see the opposite in sports. Teams and owners are so quick to move on from coaches, players, and management without giving them true time to work their craft. Not here though. Gus has had long enough. Four years (and some change) is plenty of time to get the players you want, draft prospected talent to fit your system, and have success on the field. Shad, it is your team so you have every right to do what you want, but I will say the fans of this franchise are ready to see change. Heck, even I am ready to see change. I guess only time will tell.
