Bournemouth away review

Brilliant. Just simply brilliant. I have to say, Guardiola must be very happy with how it went yesterday. Silva was MOTM for me, just awesome. In my opinion, he's proving me wrong that I wouldn't keep him, he's looked slow but yesterday he identified pretty quickly that their RB could be exploited and he did that and more and to great success. Sterling scored and assisted and was great. It was excellent to see. Sagna and dinho at RB and LB worked very well. The pitch was small and suited them so any away matches with a smaller pitch, use them. Don't use Yaya though, he looks so tired at the moment and should be the first to be rested for the game on Saturday in the cup. Clichy, Zaba, Fernando, Delph can all be used and I would use them against Huddersfield. KDB was ok yesterday, he looks very dangerous in the middle. Aguero looked ok yesterday too. With GJ out for weeks to months because of his injury yesterday (apparently) Aguero was a lot of games to prove himself and find his form. Let's be honest, he's a great option with GJ's injury so I'm not too concerned. Get well soon though Jesus. Caballero looked solid, made a great save in the second half and in the first, he rushed off his line and made a huge tackle on Ibe who tried to round him. Well done Willy. He's getting better and better after a disappointing show against Swansea. Sane was ok, not great but oh well, looked dangerous but pace and skill on a small pitch isn't great. You need to get into scoring positions. Something Sterling is better than him at. Where is Nolito these days? He gets in great positions too. I'd be tempted to play him or at least on the bench against Hudders and start Sterling and Iheanacho. I would say start Aguero but with GJ injured, we don't want Aguero injured too. Iheanacho can cause problems, quick and a good finisher. Why not start him? All round, a good display and a repeat on Saturday would see City get to the quarter finals and I can start getting excited for a cup run.

For the game itself, Sterling got in good positions. Dinho played a pearler, Raheem just couldn't control it and I would love to have seen him not control it but slow his movement down slightly and go for low hard volley. But never mind as he scored minutes later. a deflected ball played across the box by Sane and Sterling hits the ball high into the net. Get in. King scored but he is deemed to tug Stones back and a foul is given eventually and it was. I would say it was harsh but he tugs him back so he can get in front and tap in. In the second half, Bournemouth gained confidence and played well. Caballero made a massive save to his right from the edge of the area. Bournemouth dominated the ball for 20 minutes in the second half but City's defence stood firm. Blocking shots, passing well, clearing when needed. It was excellent. Kolarov was excellent but Stones was amazing. It was lovely seeing the moment between Stones and Pep at the end. Awesome. Side note, Pep gets lots of respect from me for nailing his team and tactics, everything looks settled and well. Great job and it was nice to see him wish Arter well at full time of Bournemouth with his child due after a miscarriage in 2015. Good luck Harry. Back to the game, City went two up with Sterling making a run on the left, plays in Aguero who hits Mings and it goes in. Mings had to make the challenge otherwise Aguero scores so an OG. Never mind. Bournemouth played well and I hope they stay up come the end of the season. Eddie Howe is doing a great job and deserves a lot of praise. Sane hit the crossbar late on. So close but didn't quite find the roof from close range. Aguero hit the post (I think in the first half too), bournemouth scrambled it clear and they defended ok too. All in all, 3 points, up to second and onwards and upwards. I'll be back on Friday for the review of Huddersfield at the John Smith's stadium (Galpharm for me) for a 3pm Saturday FA Cup 5th round game. Come on boys.
