Liverpool preview

What a game we have on our hands!! I think Liverpool will win this game quite comfortably to be honest and a repeat of Spurs away happening for City. I think City will score though, Liverpool don't like power and pace when defending so I will be disappointed not to score. I'll go for 3-1 Liverpool, Mane to score first and bag a brace.

Liverpool may have Coutinho back, what a boost for them. Mane is in the form of his life, Lallana too. Add in Firmino and Coutinho and you have a wonderful, quick, direct midfield and attack. Liverpool's problem come in defence and in goal. Just like City. I think Liverpool will play with less possession and attack quickly and look to have lots of shots. Bravo will have a busy day. City will pass and if they can create and be clincial, they will cause problems. I don't see that happening though. I hope I'm wrong but I really don't see any different.

I think City will set up with 4-1-4-1 and have the same back 4 that played most of the game against Hull. That's Ota and Kolarov at CB, Sagna at RB and Clichy at LB. Bravo in net, Fernandinho in front of the defence and Yaya in a holding role. I imagine Aguero will be up front and I expect Sterling to start. KDB will start too so that leaves Silva out on the left or we could see Sane for pace. That is the only way City can win this game so the team selection will tell me what City are looking for in the game. They could pack the midfield, or look to be quick and direct. If they choose pace, Yaya could miss out and Silva and KDB could occupy the centre of the park. City did that a lot at the start of the season but it would be brave to do that against Liverpool, at Anfield. Or foolish, you choose.

I'm looking forward to the game, I have low expectations so we'll see. I'll review the match either on Sunday or Monday. I won't get a chance to wish you guys and girls a happy new year so I'll do that now. I hope you all have a wonderful New Year and close to 2016, have a wonderful 2017 and I hope you all had a lovely Christmas too. Ciao for now.
