Liverpool short review & Burnley home match preview

Terrible performance. Nothing much to say, defended terrible at times and ok at times, I thought Kolarov was poor, so why use him as a LB against a quick Liverpool? I think he'll suit LB against Burnley but I think Clichy will start so lessons won't be learnt. Zabaleta is another, not good enough against pace, Sagna should start and Zaba against slower sides. Rather simple yet it does not happen. I thought Yaya was poor yesterday but once again, he should play deep against slower sides and shouldn't be playing at all when against any team that is direct and runs a lot. Silva should be in the centre, KDB ahead of him and behind the striker and 2 quick wingers. Everyone is on about goals and 2 strikers, that doesn't work either. Imagine the space behind? Just play sensibly and we'll win a fair few. This didn't happen against Liverpool yesterday. They did very little too. The match was a bore but they scored after 7 mins so they didn't need to do anything. The title is all but over and it looks like we will be 5th and United just behind us in 6th, not good. A lot of games to come and I'm confident if we can beat Burnley then we could well be in the top 4 again. A lot of the teams at the top play each other this month. Bailley is at the ACoN for the next month, a big loss. We need to win our games. I won't lose any sleep if we chuck the FA Cup on Friday night either. Top 4 and CL has to be the priority. We have Monaco over 2 legs, focus on that and the games to come through the next month and pick up some momentum. If they can do that, 4th or higher is very realistic. The team is good, it isn't great though. A lot of old age and lack of pace plagues the squad so that needs sorting out this month and the summer and build for next season with a younger, fitter, hungrier squad who can play the high press possession game that Guardiola wants. Come on City.

I expect a win tomorrow. Burnley are awful away, pose very little threats other than having Gray up front. Cut the supply off and defend properly and we can build on our better defensive record. 2 goals conceded in 4 is not bad. It's better. Build on that. We're missing Sane but Gabriel Jesus is now a City player, he won't start and I would be surprised if he is in the squad tomorrow, he could feature Friday though. Even start, why not? Back 4 again, I think we may see a change in attack though. I think we may see the return of a Dinho, Silva, KDB midfield 3. Aguero up top (poor yesterday, he needs to improve because 6 in midfield and no attackers won us some games) and probably Navas and Sterling out wide. Don't rule out Iheanacho playing in Sterling's place. 2 games in 3 days, rotation and Pep loves that. Score prediction is 2-0 City. Fingers crossed. I'm hopeful though. I'm positive too as seasons are not decided on matches at Anfield away, they get decided against teams like Burnley, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Sunderland, Hull etc and winning them games and winning some, not all, against teams around you too. It's important you don't lose to the top teams though. Draws and some wins mixed in with confident wins and performances against teams below 6th is key. If City do that, we'll get 3rd never mind 4th. A 4 team battle for 2 places in 3rd and 4th. City, Spurs, Arsenal and Utd. Exciting. I think we have the strongest squad and I feel like we're one good run away from gapping them teams. So play up and show your worth, otherwise you'll be gone lads. It would be a disaster to not finish 4th. I'd rather finish 7th or 8th and have no Europe rather than 5th. So 4th or serious questions of the team and Pep will be asked. Lots of pressure but our players are paid the most to perform so do it. We all expect.

Team prediction for tomorrow -

Bravo, Sagna, Clichy, Otamendi, Stones, Fernandinho, Silva, De Bruyne, Navas, Iheanacho, Aguero.
