Southampton away review

Super. Just super.

I felt City in the first half were poor and in the second half were great. City were slow, making the odd mistake but Southampton never really got going. Aguero had a couple of half chances and Tadic had a big chance in the first half but all 3 chances were difficult. Lucky for City, Southampton, missing Van Dijk & Classie, looked out of their depth. They are a good side but without two of their better players, City could dominate. In the second half, City had a lot more intent. Navas looked a lot better. Sane got into the game, Aguero looked sharper and Silva and KDB could get into more space. But it was a corner and header that broke Southampton. A good ball in from Silva and Kompany met the header and with Forster looking a bit dazed, they went ahead. Kompany was pivotal for City, he was their rock and it was great to see. Imagine him being injury free. 2 or 3 more seasons of solid defending. I'm sure Pep would love that, Lets not get carried away though. He needs rest and I probably wouldn't play him at Wembley. His injury record isn't good so no need to rush him back and have him playing all the time. Same with Jesus when he is back. (soon too).

The second came from a great counter attack with 15 minutes left. Silva finds a perfect defence splitting pass, De Bruyne is in, he squares into Sane who is a yard onside and slide below an advancing Forster and kills the game. Brilliant. I imagine Pep is delighted. Aguero scored minutes later with De Bruyne finding space on the byline and dips a perfect cross across goal and Aguero wins the header past two big defenders and nods in. Aguero wanted it more. Poor from Saints. great from City. Onto Wembley and the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal. Really tough game. If City can win that, is there a way back for Wenger? WBA at home has been moved to City's last home game on a Tuesday night in the final week of the season. So next up in the league is Man Utd next Thursday night. Tough again. Big fixtures and a BIG April ahead. Come on boys. More performances like yesterday please.

I'll preview and review the Wembley match sometime in the week or next weekend. I'm a busy guy and may well miss the Wembley match but I'll try my best to see everything and find out everything. Vamos. Peace.
