Watford away preview (Last Game of the Season).
One last cup final. We travel to London for a difficult match knowing a draw is good enough for CL football next season, a loss makes things tricky if Liverpool and Arsenal win (likely) and a win sees us secure 3rd and automatic group stage CL football next season. 3rd would be great so we have to play to win and Pep has said this too. City have been working on attacking and shooting this week so they are planning to score goals. Good. Sane and Sterling have been working hard today and stayed out late after training to work on their finishing which is good to see. I think we have to see one of them play and I'd be tempted to see them both on the wings and see Jesus and Aguero in the middle. We could well see 3 at the back to make this work, which means they will need to track back. I'll go into detail at the end. Pep likes to switch the formation for when City are on the ball and when they are defending. That means We'd see something like Kolarov, Kompany and Otamendi take the centre, Fernandinho in front of them, Sane and Sterling on the wing backs (Navas may cover that too) then two of Yaya, KDB and Silva, probably the later of the two and Jesus and Aguero up front. I'd like to see what Pep does though. That is my prediction. I think the match will be scrappy and horrible and I hope City can grind just one more win. End the season well. Perfect.
Watford are removing their manager after the game, they're safe and playing like they are on holiday. They do have pace in their team though and score goals and cause trouble when attacking, their defence in the problem. I think pace is a must for City and try and hurt them and any mistakes they make. Pressure them. Watford are a good side so this game could well end in them winning and City in trouble if Liverpool win and Arsenal win and catch the goal difference up (not impossible). We need to be careful. Play our game and play it well. I think it'll finish 2-1 City and City to sneak it. I'm hoping for something much more comfortable though. It will ease my heart. This is my penultimate post on this blog too. So one more review after this then I'll turn to video footage and give that a go for the summer transfers and games and upload them to YouTube and see how that goes for a season.
