Brad Marchand and Company Put on a Show in Columbus

The first game of the year is always an important one; every team wants to start the season with a win.  For the Boston Bruins, the first game meant going into Columbus without their best player and two starting defensemen.  Patrice Bergeron, Adam McQuaid, and Kevan Miller all missed opening night with injuries.  With those players out, guys were going to have to step up and fill the void.  One line really stepped up, and that was the line of Brad Marchand, David Backes, and David Pastrnak.  After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, this line burst onto the scene and put up 6 goals for the Bruins.  Boston won the game 6-3, and this line combined for 12 points.  Brad Marchand finished with 2 goals, 3 assists, and 5 points.  David Pastrnak finished with 2 goals, 2 assists, and 4 points.  David Backes finished with 2 goals, 1 assist, and 3 points.  This line put on a show, and Bruin's fans should be more than happy with what they saw.  I know it's only 1 game, but Boston looked better than I expected.  Maybe there is reason for optimism after all.
