Jackson or Garcon....or neither?

Which one of these recivers will be back in burgundy & gold
?After gaining over 1000yds in a contract year both DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon look to cash in this offseason. However all signs point to them cashing in somewhere other than DC.

Fans will ask how do you let TWO veteran recivers, that account for almost half of your QB's record breaking year, walk away. You have Jordan Reed and Crowder but I mean you have to keep one of those wideouts right? The answer, place your faith in a wideout who played in only two games in his rookie year. Ladies and gentlemen the future leader of the Washington Redskins receiving crew, Josh Doctson?

Kirk Cousins, one way or another, will be the 2017 starting QB . If he plays on the tag or a long-term deal is another topic. My bet is that Josh Doctson will be his next 1000 yard receiver.

Now, I am slightly biased because I've been a fan of Desean Jackson since he stepped on an NFL field. How can anyone who enjoys offense not love this guy. His big play ability is like very few in the NFL today. Over the last 7 games he went for over 100 yards in 4 of them. Garcon only had a 100yd game once all season. Also, Jackson finished the year with 19 receptions of 20 yards or more. He changes opposing coaches schemes and game plans during the week, something Pierre Garcon does not. However Jackson has had issues staying on the field. Anoter issue Pierre Garcon does not have.

Pierre unlike DeSean is a model of consistency. Garcon has played in 58 of 64 possible regular season games as a Redskin where DeSean has missed 9 games over just 3 seasons. Jackson misses games ever year, Garcon hasn't missed a game since his first year with the team in 2012. While PG might not have the flashy numbers and speed of DJax his numbers are nothing to ignore. 79 receptions 1041 yards and 3 touchdowns in 2016. Even if you include the year he was hurt Garcon has averaged 75catches a season in five seasons with Washington. Jackson has only achieved over 75 catches one time in his 8 year career.

Simply put DeSean gives you big play ability needed to change momentum and Garcon give you the consistency you need to make the offense click. Which one of them is worth the 10+ million they will want to make in the up coming season you ask? Neither! If you're Washington that is. Both players will fit nicely on another team but it's time for both to move on from Washington.

All that Jackson and Garcon give you is stuffed inside a 6,2 206 pound monster of a reciver. Josh Doctson could potentially be the best the Redskins wide receiver in my 27 years of life. Doctson was a touchdown machine in college and brings a much needed red zone presence.

?The way his injury was handle was horrible, in my opinion. One would think with Jackson and Garcon, at the start of 2016, that Doctson would've been put on the PUP list to start the season and eased into the starting lineup. Don't let the miss management of his injury detour your faith Redskins faithful. Just a few days ago he posted a video of him self doing speed drills. He'll be fully healthy in year two and a big part of a Kirk Cousins lead offense. The past is the past. Doctson is the future.
