Wizards Playoffs chances.

NBA: Miami Heat at Washington Wizards

The Eastern Conference is a one team conference. Really a one man conference, LeBron James runs the east. So the question all season has been which team has the best chance to upset the Cavs in the conference finals? A fair amount of people have said that the Wizards are that team. As much as the DC sports fan in me would like that to be true it just isn't. I hate to burst the bubble but the Wizards won't make it past the 2nd round.

John Wall is a superstar no doubt. Bradley Beal is a great player. The team is good. So good in fact that them being the 4th seed, when they were about a game away from the 1st seed a few weeks ago, is an underachievement. The lack of defense and the lack of rebounds will be the most damaging thing for this team. Washington lives and dies of Wall and Beal having great offensive production. Marcin Gortat averaged 10.4 rebounds in the regular season he's going to need to average more in the post season. Just like Otto Porter Jr. who averaged about 6 a game in the regular season.

Long story short the Wizards have 0 chance of being LeBron and the Cavs. I like them to beat the Hawks in 6. Come the 2nd round of the playoffs they will most likely face the Boston Celtics, which I'd take Boston in 7. If the Wizards somehow slip past Boston they will be so gassed come the Eastern Conference finals they'd really be playing to avoid a sweep. Sorry Wizards fans this isn't the year
