Does Ted Thompson Have Dementia?

Really, Ted? Really?? REALLY??? You cut the BEST offensive lineman the Packers have had since T Chad Clifton, a 3-time Pro-Bowler, a top 5 overall guard in the NFL, because he is making $6.7 million about, and will hit the open market next year? Why? Why not wait until next offseason to not re-sign him? You do understand that is a possibility, right, instead of being incredibly rash and (potentially) pissing off Aaron Rodgers?

If Linsley was healthy, and JC Tretter was lined up to play left guard, maybe that move would make sense. But, Linsley is hurt, and you already placed G Josh Walker on IR, so now what? Please don't tell me Don Barclay is the answer, he's been awful recently and the fact you re-signed him in the first place baffled me. Maybe it's Lane Taylor, but he is no Josh Sitton, and heck, most of the NFL is not as good as Josh Sitton. He has injury problems, but also started 110 out of a possible 112 games since 2009. Are you putting rookie Jason Spriggs at tackle and moving Bryan Bulaga or David Bakhtiari to Sitton's former spot? Like, what the (expletive) are you doing in Green Bay? Are the Badgers playing there confusing you?

I wouldn't be as harsh if this was Bakhtiari, Tretter or TJ Lang even, but Sitton is the best lineman we have. You can't possibly say that the line is better off without him, and if you do, you should be fired immediately under the pretext of dementia or insanity. Are you cutting WR Randall Cobb too? Eddie Lacy? Jordy Nelson? Clay Matthews? Yeah, we won one Super Bowl with you as a GM, but we also saw what happened when Rodgers got hurt in 2013 (the team was terrible). Until proven otherwise, Aaron Rodgers is what makes this team win, not you. So stop fooling around before you cut Aaron Rodgers "with a focus on what is best for the team and the growth of the" quarterback position. That quoted section was a direct line from GM Ted Thompson, but instead of saying quarterback he said offensive line. We don't need growth, Ted, we need a championship. It's not about the future, it's about the present, and regardless, with Lang, Tretter and Bakhtiari free agents as well, the line will be shuffled anyways after this season. So, please, just pretend you thought it was April Fool's day, and bring Sitton back.

Oh, and did I mention the Chicago Bears have interest? -_-
