Knicks vs Wizards 1/31/16 at 7:00ET: Analysis

What we learned from last night's game: Nothing.

Not only did the New York Knicks take an L last night but their defense put the L in lethargic, lousy, and lackidasical. Granted, the Wizards tandem of John Wall and Bradley Beal have been unstoppable as of late, and the Knicks still need to find some answers on the defensive end.

Despite being bullied early in tuesday's contest by the savvy veteran in Carmelo Anthony, the Wizards youngsters Otto Porter Jr. and Kelly Oubre Jr. both came out of their shell last night tallying a combined total of 24 points. These two have been differences makers on this team and are improving each and every time they step on the court. Washington will need these two to put in beneficial minutes for the team if they want to see their success continue.

Hopefully the Knicks have realized that Carmelo Anthony can't carry the team on his back despite putting up big numbers every game. Willy Hernangomez, Ron Baker, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas don't seem to be the answer for the offense or the struggling defense.

At this point in the season the Wizards and Knicks find themselves in very opposite situations. The Knicks are a flailing team looking to secure a good pick in this years draft while the Wizards seem to be jockeying for a top spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
