First Period Recap: Wild 2, LA 0
The Wild finished right where they left off from their game in San Jose. Mikko Koivu continued his mini hot streak and has scored the last three goals for the Wild. As for the rest of the team, it was an all around good effort from the team. One player who in particular who impressed me was Charlie Coyle. He has been somewhat quite recently, at least for Charlie Coyle standards on the year. It was good to see Coyle get back on the scoring sheet and also good to see Jason Pominville, whose play has been questioned lately, get an assist on the Coyle goal. Another positive from the period was the play of goaltender Darcy Kuemper. Although he plays sparingly, he has been great at being up to the test of filling in on Devan Dubnyk's off day and has turned into a solid backup. The game is far from over and in order to win this game, the Wild must be relentless and not show mercy, because this Kings team is extremely capable of making a game out of this.
