In Article 10, the league had just finished the month of July, 1888, so the competition continued through the month of August for the EFCDBG Challenge. Game 38 was played on 8-1-1888 and was between the 3D 1885 New York Giants and the 2E 1884 Providence Grays. There was real world information for this game when on 5-24-1884 the Grays won 19-5, so this was factored into the formula. The Grays won 13-2 in this scenario and Echo led Delta 44-38, but trailed Bravo 4-3.

Game 49 was between the 7D 1882 Boston Red Stockings and the 5E 1876 Chicago White Stockings and there was real world information for this game when on 5-16-1877, the Red Stockings won 1-0. This did not help much here as the White Stockings won 11-1 in this scenario. Echo led Bravo 5-4, but trailed Golf 5-3.

These were members of the inaugural 1871 White Stockings season.

Game 52 was between the 2E 1884 Providence Grays and the 2G 1885 St. Louis Browns. Only offensive and defensive parameters were used. The Browns won 8-5 so they advanced to the Championship.

The Final Game was played on 8-13-1888 and featured the 5E 1876 Chicago White Stockings and the 2G 1885 St. Louis Browns. All the World Series games were used for these two so only offensive and defensive parameters were used. It was not very exciting, but the White Stockings won 13-1 to claim the Delta-2 Championship. In the Tournament of Champions they were matched up against the 1882 Chicago White Stockings, but teams from the same lineage do not play one another and the winner is determined by the team with the best record which was the 1882 team. 2nd place Echo still trailed 7th place Golf so the challenge would have to go to Round C.
