The Hornets weren't a bad team, and they blew a series lead against the Heat in the first round of the playoffs, but the Nets don't seem like they're ready to compete any time soon. However, it's possible that more moves may be coming to Brooklyn, which would help make this deal make more sense. In a year where the salary cap booms, Brooklyn may have the ammo to push for many more signings to come.
