Celtics Trade Options

Much has been made about the Celtics and all of their assets. The pick that they received from Brooklyn for an aging KG and Paul Pierce being the most notable among them. Sitting 2.5 games behind the Cavs, many feel as though the Celtics should make a move. Maybe Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley, and that most coveted pick, which could very likely wind up being the number one overall pick, to Chicago for Jimmy Butler? I have heard that rumor and vehemently disagree. Here's why:

First of all, the 2017 NBA draft is loaded. Absolutely stacked. The best since 2003 when Melo, D-wade, LeBron, and Bosh all were selected. To go with that, Gordon Hayward is set to be a free agent this summer. Who coached him in college? That's right, Celtics coach Brad Stevens. And who openly applauded the Jazz forward when he played on the road in their gym last month? Celtic fans. Hayward to the Celtics this summer is as close to a lock as there is. Now the question becomes would you rather have Gordon Hayward and a top draft pick or Jimmy Butler and no top pick? I think that's an easy choice. And considering the Cavs still have LeBron, the Celtics likely won't make much noise in the East this season anyways. Boston needs to stay put come the trade deadline and build for the future. "Trust the Process."
