Conference Finals Predictions

Yes, the Wizards and Celtics still have to play a decisive Game 7, so the Conference Finals are not set in stone, but I am going to make my picks now, as the Western Conference Finals begin tomorrow. Assuming the Wizards beat the Celtics, I will be 10 for 12 so far picking series in the NBA Playoffs. My only misses were the Clippers over the Jazz (who could've forseen Blake getting hurt?) and the Rockets falling at the hands of the Spurs. I should've known better than to bet against the Spurs....Betting against them, the Patriots, and Alabama Football is essentially a death wish.

Yet I am going to do it again.

(2)Spurs vs. (1) Warriors..... I like the Warriors in this series. They have too many weapons. Yes, Kawhi is an elite defender, but the Warriors have four elite perimeter scoring threats. I think the Warriors will overwhelm the Spurs, as they have done to both the Blazers and Jazz in series prior. If San Antonio wants to have any glimmer of hope in this series, they are going to need LaMarcus Aldridge to play like he did in Game 6 against the Rockets in which he had 34 points and snared 12 boards, and they are also going to need Pau Gasol to time-travel back to his Laker Days. It's not impossible, but extremely unlikely. The Spurs will need to play perfect basketball to have a shot. The Warriors superior talent paired with Kawhi's bum-ankle has me siding with Golden State. Warriors in 5.

(2) Cavaliers vs. (4)Wizards/(1)Celtics ... I picked Washington to win the Celtics-Wiz series prior to it beginning, but after watching the first six games, I wouldn't be surprised to see Boston win Game 7. With that being said, the winner of that series is going to get slaughtered by LeBron James and company. Coming off of what will be nine days of rest, the Cavaliers will be fresh and ready to pounce. They certainly match up better with Boston, but either way I don't expect this series to be particularly close. Cavaliers in 5.

Next up : The Trilogy.
