Karl-Anthony Towns: The NBA's Next Superstar

NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves at Indiana Pacers

LeBron has been the face of the league for the better part of a decade. Before him it was Kobe, and before Kobe it was MJ. The next in the lineage of transcendent NBA superstars is Karl Anthony Towns. The Timberwolves 7-footer is revolutionizing the Center position. Yes, there have been stretch fours for quite some time, but there have not been stretch five men with the shot-making and playmaking ability that Towns possesses.

NBA League Pass is great. I just watched Towns connect on a trio of three-pointers as he erupted for 37 points and 12 rebounds while going 10-10 from the charity stripe in a close win over the Pacers. Yes, he plays in a small market, and yes, his team has unequivocally struggled at times this season, but so did LeBron in his first two seasons with Cleveland. Towns is only 21 years-old. 21! Since the calendar turned to 2017, KAT has put up 28 and 14 on the regular. His talent is undeniable. It is just a matter of time before the sporting audience takes notice.
