NBA Conference Finals Predictions

Eastern Conference

(2) Boston Celtics vs. (4) Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron is at the absolute peak of his powers right now. Picking against him would be dereliction. While I do think that the Celtics have ample bodies to throw at The King that could potentially cause him some trouble and that Brad Stevens is nothing short of a basketball savant, I just cannot envision a scenario in which LeBron doesn’t make his eighth consecutive Finals appearance. Cavaliers in 6.

Western Conference

(1) Houston Rockets vs. (2) Golden State Warriors. It feels as though the NBA universe has been awaiting this showdown ever since the Rockets demonstrated that Chris Paul and James Harden could successfully coexist. The Warriors pedigree is tough to bet against, but I am tempted. Houston’s brand of basketball is conducive for success against Steve Kerr’s squad. Seemingly the Rocket’s entire roster shoots the three-ball at a high clip and thrive playing in isolation. I am just not all that confident that Houston will be able to contain the triumvirate of Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson defensively. In fact, I don’t think they can. It will be an exhilarating series, but ultimately, I just can’t see a team as talented as Golden State getting ousted before the Finals. Warriors in 6.
