Top Skill Groups in the NFL

Surrounding a quarterback with explosive talent is the name of the game in the NFL. Here are the seven best skill units in football.

7. New Orleans Saints. Drew Brees has a plethora of weapons at his display. Alvin Kamara, the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, is primed for another big season, while Michael Thomas and Cameron Meredith are two big-bodied wide receivers that have the ability to make plays in traffic. Once Mark Ingram returns from his four-game suspension, watch out, the Saints might have the most balanced attack in all of football.

6. Los Angeles Rams. Todd Gurley was in my opinion the MVP of the NFL last season. What he did through the air as well as on the ground was immaculate. Adding Brandin Cooks to a receiving corps that already features Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods bodes well for Jared Goff and the Rams offense.

5. Atlanta Falcons. Julio Jones is an absolute specimen – Calvin Johnson-esque. Mohammed Sanu, Taylor Gabriel, and Calvin Ridley, the rookie out of Alabama, should provide Matt Ryan with an arsenal that he hasn’t had in his time in Atlanta. Oh, and having Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman manning the backfield doesn’t hurt either.

4. Kansas City Chiefs. With Travis Kelce, Kareem Hunt, Tyreek Hill, and now Sammy Watkins in the fold, Andy Reid and company have surrounded Patrick Mahomes with an elusive bundle of talent.

3. Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings undoubtedly have the NFL’s best receiver duo in Adam Thielan and Stefon Diggs. Add Dalvin Cook into the mix and Minnesota all of a sudden has a back that has the potential to reach heights that only Adrian Peterson reached in the Twin Cities.

2. New York Giants. A healthy Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram, and Saquon Barkley give Eli Manning and the New York Football Giants the ability to absolutely shred opposing defenses. Assuming Odell returns to his healthy self and Saquon is all that he has been hyped up to be, do not be surprised if this offense catapults the Giants from the doldrums of the league into the postseason.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers. Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown; those two are givens. Then Pittsburgh also has Juju Smith-Schuster and James Washington- an All-American last season at Oklahoma State- rounding out their receiving corps. Big Ben is certainly on the decline, but management in the Steel City has surrounded him with such talent that it doesn’t seem to matter.
