Two NBA Nuggets That Will Blow Your Mind

Earlier today I came across two NBA related nuggets, both coincidentally involving DeAndre Jordan, that nearly blew my mind. One is strikingly positive while the other is abominable, and quite frankly disgraceful. Let's start with the positive. DeAndre Jordan could miss his next 474 shots and still have the highest field goal percentage in NBA History. I could not believe this. Jordan currently posts a career mark of 67.4% from the field thanks in large part to his unmatched athleticism. Playing with Chris Paul certainly doesn't hurt either. While Jordan is not incredibly skilled, the mere fact that he rarely - if ever- leaves the paint, leads me to believe that he will likely retire as the NBA's all-time leader in field goal percentage. His next closest companion is Tyson Chandler at just a shade under 60%. The next note regarding Jordan isn't so positive. James Harden could miss his next 4,731 free throws and still have a higher career free throw percentage than DeAndre Jordan. That is insane! Yes, James Harden is lethal from the charity stripe, but Jordan is as putrid as Harden is automatic. Jordan posts a career free throw percentage of 47%....yikes! One could argue that it is his ineptitude from the foul line that is holding the Clippers back. They are so dynamic offensively that often times teams in a sense "tap out" and mercilessly foul Jordan. Can you blame them? Harden surely won't miss 4,731 consecutive free throws, but DeAndre might.
