WWE Power Rankings: October 15, 2016

The Eck Factor's ranking of the Top 20 WWE Superstars based on their overall impact, momentum and positioning on the card for the week ending Oct. 15 (last week's ranking in parentheses):

1. AJ STYLES (1)

The WWE World Champion successfully defended his title against John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat Match at No Mercy. On SmackDown, Styles suffered one of the biggest upsets in WWE history when he was pinned by scrawny James Ellsworth in a non-title match. Because the match was a farce, thanks to the antics of special referee Dean Ambrose, the "loss" did not knock Styles out of the No. 1 position in the rankings.

2. KEVIN OWENS (2)

The WWE Universal Champion attacked Seth Rollins after Rollins' win over Chris Jericho on Raw, but Rollins turned it around and ended up hitting a Pedigree on Owens' best bud Jericho after Owens powdered for the second straight week.

3. DEAN AMBROSE (3)

The special referee in the non-title match on SmackDown between WWE World Champion AJ Styles and James Ellsworth, Ambrose refused to make a three count after Styles hit the Styles Clash. Ambrose then hit Dirty Deeds twice on Styles, put Ellsworth on top of the champion and counted the pin.

4. ROMAN REIGNS (4)

The U.S. Champion teamed with Raw Women's Champion Sasha Banks to defeat Rusev and Charlotte in a mixed tag match on Raw.

5. SETH ROLLINS (5)

Rollins defeated Chris Jericho on Raw in a match in which Jericho would've been added to the Hell in a Cell match between WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens and Rollins if he had won. After the match, Rollins overcame an attack by Owens and went on to Pedigree Jericho.

6. SASHA BANKS (7)

The Raw Women's Champion forced former champion Charlotte to tap out, as Banks and U.S. Champion Roman Reigns defeated Charlotte and Rusev in a mixed tag match on Raw. It was announced during the show that Banks' upcoming title defense against Charlotte will be the first-ever women's Hell in a Cell match.

7. JOHN CENA (6)

After being hit with two chair shots, Cena was pinned by WWE World Champion AJ Styles in a Triple Threat Match at No Mercy that also involved Dean Ambrose.

8. NEW DAY (8)

New Day's Kofi Kingston pinned Cesaro in a singles match on Raw, thanks in part to an inadvertent distraction from Cesaro's unwilling partner Sheamus.

9. DOLPH ZIGGLER (14)

In a match in which his WWE career was on the line, Ziggler defeated The Miz at No Mercy to win the Intercontinental Title. On SmackDown, Ziggler defeated Kenny and Mikey of The Spirit Squad in a handicap match.

10. BRAY WYATT (15)

With an assist from the returning Luke Harper, Wyatt defeated Randy Orton at No Mercy. In a tag match on SmackDown, Wyatt again pinned Orton, as he and Harper beat Orton and Kane.

Gallows and Anderson jumped Enzo Amore and Big Cass before their match and laid them out.

18. BECKY LYNCH (18)

The SmackDown Women's Champion's scheduled title defense against Alexa Bliss at No Mercy was postponed to Nov. 8 due to Lynch having a medical condition.

19. HEATH SLATER AND RHYNO (unranked)

The unlikely SmackDown Tag Team Champions successfully defended their title against The Usos at No Mercy. On SmackDown, Slater and Rhyno saved Ziggler from a three-on-one attack by The Miz and The Spirit Squad.

20. SAMI ZAYN (19)

Zayn teamed with Neville to defeat Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel on Raw.

Dropped out of the rankings: Alexa Bliss (17)
