WWE Says Paige Tested Positive For Illegal Substance, Not Prescription Drug

WWE has issued a response to claims by Paige (Saraya-Jade Bevis) and her father that the 60-day suspension for her second Wellness Policy violation was due to a doctor-prescribed drug.

"Saraya-Jade Bevis tested positive for an illegal substance, not a prescription drug," WWE said in a statement to The New York Post. "In addition, WWE is providing world-class medical care for her in-ring injury."

After Paige's suspension was announced on Monday, her father, Ricky Knight, wrote on Facebook that his daughter "has had a long-term neck injury which imo has not been dealt with. I have ask my daughter to return to UK for help with this injury as help and direction in the USA has not been forthcoming imo. ... She has been prescribed pain killers which apparently is against the wellness program."

On Twitter that same day, Paige wrote: "Same shit different day. Kids .. Please don't get prescriptions or doctors notes. Not acceptable."
