Glennon Was Once Compared to this Super Bowl Champion

??Newly signed Bears Quarterback Mike Glennon has drawn a tug-of-war support amongst the Bears fan base. Mike Glennon has played sparingly in his 4 year career and there have been some mixed reviews on his potential however Jon Gruden once compared him to a Super Bowl winning quarterback. Joe Flacco, known for coolness when the pressure matters most is the guy Gruden believes is his 2.0 version. Glennon has shown flashes of being unflappable when the pressure is on.  According to Gruden, Glennons end-zone film showed an uncanny ability that Gruden loved and compared it to Joe Flacco. This statement was made 4 years ago however there's nothing wrong with digging up some positive feedback from one of the NFL's brightest minds. Let's not forget Gruden has won with replenished quarterbacks such as Rich Gannon and Brad Johnson. I foresee Glennon being mentioned in the same breath as those quarterbacks who started their careers as backups and later blossomed into respected starting quarterbacks. While some think Jay Cutler is better than Mike Glennon such as Fox Sports'  Skip Bayless, I believe Glennon has a better karma trait than Cutler and can be the next Brad Johnson or Rich Gannon. The Bears have a steady offensive line and is in better shape than the O-line Glennon inherited in Tampa. Glennon will have a power running game with Jordan Howard and Kadeem Carey. Some may say Glennon had Doug Martin, but during Glennons' first 2 seasons (Pre Jameis Winston)  Martin was injured only playing a combined 17 games.  A strong o-line and power running game are a quarterbacks best friend and Glennon should benefit. The Bears defense is not a pushover when healthy, they flirted with a top 10 ranking for part of the 2016 season. If everything comes together for Glennon, the Bears can be a surprise team in the NFC North.

“If you want a recent comparison, I don't think the similarities to Joe Flacco are unfair,’’ Gruden said. “They're both 6-foot-6, they both have really nice throwing motions and they both have a nice, compact stroke that just looks effortless. If you watch end-zone film of Flacco, there are times when you go, 'Wow!' when he snaps one off. I found myself saying the same with Glennon a few times."
