It's only Summer League.. Calm down people

Last night, Lonzo Ball put up 36 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds en route to a Lakers 103 -102 Summer league victory over the Markelle Fultzless Philadelphia 76ers. The game was hosted on ESPN in primetime, in sin city, with about 9,000-10,000 fans in the stands wearing Purple and Gold.

It had all the feel of a regular season game, yet Laker fans need to calm down a little bit. Lonzo Ball dropping 36 points in a game, or having a triple double in a summer league game means absolutely nothing but give a brief preview about some potential. Keep in mind, Lonzo wasn't going up against the scoring likes of Chris Paul or Damian Lillard or the defensive specialists in Patrick Beverley or Klay Thompson. No instead, Ball was playing against the likes of Larry Drew II who has hardly had any playing time in the NBA, or some random scrub from Boston who won't even be on their G-league team.

Not saying that Lonzo is going to be a bust, but let's relax a little bit on saying he's going to take the Lakers to the playoffs, or that he's going to win R.O.Y. Let's see him play against real NBA players in a game in November and December before declaring he's the greatest player ever.
