Why the Cavs have a Lebron Problem

During the slow time in sports which happens to fall right as NFL preseason begins and the busy time of the NBA off-season ends, there is not a lot going on. That all changed about 15 days ago when Kyrie Irving asked the Cleveland Cavaliers to be traded so that he could be the man on his own team. Apparently he wants to get away from Lebron James. Now normally that would be a huge shock considering that Lebron has ruled the eastern conference for almost a decade straight and the majority of his teams make the NBA finals. But keep in mind he's 3-5 in the finals, and he's a Kyrie Irving and Ray Allen 3 pointer away from being 1-7.

Yes, many argue that Lebron is the greatest of all time, ( Disclaimer my opinion is that he's not even top 5) but what is not in doubt is that he is a great player. However, at what point do you sacrifice young talent for someone who no doubt is going to end up leaving next year for greener pastures? Kyrie is going to be 26 next year and Lebron is getting older every year and will be turning 33. In what coaches/GM's mind and in what professional sport do you keep an aging superstar over the young superstar? The answer is ONLY IN CLEVELAND.

When Lebron leaves after the 2017-18 season, the Cavs are going to be cellar dwellers again. That team is constructed based off the people that Lebron wanted. Tristan Thompson? Channing Frye? Richard Jefferson? J.R Smith? You expect that roster that the "King" wanted and expect them to compete with the likes of Houston, Boston or Golden State this year? There's not a chance that can happen. Dan Gilbert has given Lebron and his crew way too much power. Whether it's from the coach that he wants, to the GM he wants, to the specific team mates he wants. and this right here is Cleveland's biggest problem. YOU ARE GIVING A PLAYER WHO HAS NOT INTENTION OF STAYING WITH YOUR TEAM PAST THIS YEAR, THE ULTIMATE POWER OF RUNNING THE FRANCHISE.

You don't get 2 coaches fired, a roster constructed to how you want it minus Kevin Love because we all know that Lebron hasn't really treated Kevin Love that well to begin with and go through GM's like crazy and expect young talent to stay happy or even want to sign with you to begin with.

Cleveland you have a Lebron problem, it's time to end it once and for all before you fall back into irrelevance.
