The Pistons Season Ender And 2016 Draft

The Pistons made the playoffs for the first time since 2008 they finished with a 44-38 record which locked in the 8th seed. They had to go against the Cleveland Cavaliers who was the 1st seed in the east they fought them to the wire. LeBron and company eventually sweep the pistons 4-0 but every game was down to last few minutes of the 4th quarter, including game 4. In Game 4 the score was 100-98 with a few seconds left Reggie Jackson tried to draw a foul on Kyrie and missed the game winning three. Yep that's how the season ended for the pistons but it was the best one in seven years.

On to the 2016 NBA Draft Stan van Gundy had plenty of interviews about the pick but the fans still didn't know who was they going to draft, since they had the 18th pick. SVG took a PF from Marquette whose name is Henry Ellenson I was  surprised by this pick but it was great strategy. Henry Ellenson who is 6 feet 10 inches is a good all around player who shoot the midrange and the three ball, also has some moves on the block. Now SVG has big guy down who could play next to Andre Drummond which they can benefit from playing with each other this upcoming season. Hopefully SVG lets him play from the start and he might become a better version of Kevin love. Also ellenson has a good ability to bring the ball up the floor like a guard which makes it more exciting on the court. Especially when teams start doing hack a dre since Drummond not a good free-throw shooter, the pistons could put henry at the center position and rotate other players at the power forward.

In the 2nd round the pistons had pick number 49th and they selected Michael Gbinije who played for Syracuse the past 3 seasons. Michael is a 6 foot 7 inches wing player who is very versatile player he able to play three positions also he could shoot the three ball and create his own shot his best favorite is his willingness to make plays for others with his height advantage against other guards. I think SVG going to keep this player and let him develop to a good bench player for the pistons, both pistons draft picks could become very special for this team in years to come. I'm looking forward to watch them play in the summer league I think it will help them get a early start on how is to play against NBA players.
