Stephen A. Smith goes off on Colin Kaepernick

As we all know, the 2016 Presidential election was last night, but not everyone contributed to the election. Colin Kaepernick recently made headlines for announcing his decision to not vote and Stephen A. Smith went OFF! The topic was discussed this morning on the ESPN show First Take. Max Kellerman, Molly Qerim, and Stephen A. were shocked by his decision not to vote. Here's some notable things from Smith's rant on Colin Kaepernick.

Stephen A. Smith calls Colin Kaepernick a hypocrite

Part of Smith's rant was about how Colin Kaepernick was a hypocrite because he spent weeks protesting the injustice against the oppressed people and then chose not to exercise his right to vote that many African Americans died for. I fully agree with Smith's stance on this because the whole purpose of voting is to make change, so if you want to make change in this country (as he has been stating for the past few months) then he should have went to vote. Stephen A. Smith made a great point about this.

Stephen A. Smith asks why did he announce it

Stephen A. and Molly were perplexed by the fact that he would announce his decision to not vote. Another point that Smith made is that "after not voting and exercising your right to vote, you are going to announce that you did not vote". Of course, I am paraphrasing, but you get the drift. To not vote is one thing, but to announce that you didn't vote as if that was a smart thing to say is another.

I believe that Mr. Smith is right, obviously. Voting is important and many people have died for our right to vote. Voting is what makes America a democracy and you should vote to try to make a change in this world.

Funny note: Stephen A. stated that he no longer cares to hear about Colin Kaepernick and that is he is irrelevant. He also stated that if he saw him, he would just walk right past him. The way he said it was funny. Nonetheless, check out Stephen A. rant on Colin Kaepernick below. Thanks for reading!
