WNBA Finals: Why the Lynx will repeat
Game 5 of the WNBA Finals is set for Thursday as the Minnesota Lynx and the Los Angeles Sparks face off against each other in a winners take all game. Maya Moore and the Lynx are looking to become back to back champions and winners of their fourth title in 5 years. The Sparks are looking to win their first title since the early 00s and Candace Parker is looking to add a title to her impressive resume. Who's going to take home the gold on Thursday night? Here's a few reasons why the Lynx will repeat.
If you have read my articles about the Lynx before, you will know I am a huge Moore fan. She has an incredible resume and at the age of 27, she is already a three time champion. Last night she willed the Lynx to a victory while posting 31 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. Maya Moore was not going to the Lynx go home early and I presume we will say that same Maya Moore on Thursday night. She was aggressive all night, but in the fourth quarter she knocked down some critical shots to keep the Lynx ahead. Maya Moore is special and we may see an all time performance from her on Thursday night.
WNBA Finals Home Court Advantage
The Lynx will be returning home on Thursday and that will be a great relief for them. The Lynx went 15-2 at home during the regular season and have been just as good in the playoffs. Expect them to defend their home court, especially when it matters the most. With the title on the line, the Lynx should be able to fend off the Sparks at home and continue their dominant WNBA run over the past 5 seasons.
The Minnesota Lynx are a dynasty WNBA team and with Maya Moore and home court advantage, they have a great chance to add to that legacy. I wouldn't count out the Sparks and Candace Parker, but the Lynx are in great position to win and I believe that is what they will do.
