Consulting Olympic Efforts
When the Huffington Post was preparing for the 2016 Rio Olympics or the 2012 London Olympics, they sought out Media Forward co-founder Terry Lyons for his expert opinion on USA Basketball and its international competition.
While working at the NBA, Lyons assisted in efforts to prepare the 1984 and 1988 USA Olympic teams, then, from 1989-1992, he worked arduously on the lead-up to the 1992 USA Basketball Dream Team -- all the while carrying the NBA's international torch to promote the many pro prospects coming from every corner of the earth. He worked with the NBA and USA Basketball on five Olympic Games ('92, '96, '2000, 2004, 2008) and has enjoyed regular interaction with his former colleagues, coaches and players.
This past summer, Lyons assisted AEG as it marketed and promoted a five-game pre-Olympic tour in five key markets in the USA, leading up to the team's departure for Rio. (All games sold out).
