Welcome To My New Mets Memories Blog

I've been a Mets fan almost from the very beginning. I remember attending games in the Polo Grounds in 1962 and 1963 and sitting behind posts in broken seats. I remember sitting in the bleachers for a Memorial Day doubleheader against the Dodgers in 1963 when it was so foggy, all I could see was the center fielder's head.

When the Mets moved to Shea in 1964, I could walk to the game or take a short bus ride. I remember them all - from Hot Rod Kanehl and Ron Hunt to Don Bosch and Johnny Lewis and Billy Cowan who were all going to be stars of the future. It didn't work out for them, but once Tom Seaver came along, things were looking up. Of course, there was the Miracle of 1969, the You Gotta Believe team of 1973, the World Chamionship 1986 Bad Boys and lots of heartache in between.

Perhaps some of you are familiar with my posts from other Mets blogs. This is my newest venture where I will reminisce about past Met teams, good and bad, great trades and awful ones, prospects who became stars and those who fizzled out. If you're a Mets fan, young or old, I hope you'll visit often - and please tell your friends !
