Top Ten NBA Players of All Time - No 9

No 9 - Allen Iverson

At number 9, I choose Allen Iverson (A.I). Iverson had a very memorable career. He has one of the best crossovers in the history of basketball. In his rookie year, he used his killer crossover and left the legend, Michael Jordan, trippin’. People say that it was the best crossover ever. Here it is ...

Allen Iverson has also broken many records. He has the record for the most seasons leading the league in steals (with 3). Also, he has the record for the most steals in a playoff game (with 10). In a five game series, he has the most points (with 178), most field goals made (with 66), and most field goals attempted (with 162).

He has the NBA finals record for most free throws in a quarter (with 9), and the record for most consecutive 40 point games for a rookie (with 5). Allen Iverson's records won't be broken anytime soon.

In the 2000-01 season, A.I. averaged 31.1 Points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.5 steals. He won MVP over a young Tim Duncan and Shaquille O'Neal. This was Allen Iverson’s only MVP. Also, that season Iverson singlehandedly led the 76ers squad to the NBA Finals (which they lost to the Lakers).

In 2005, A.I. averaged 33 points a game (which is a career high). But he was only 9th in MVP voting and was only in the 3rd Team All NBA. In my opinion, A.I. should have been in the 1st Team All NBA. He also should have been 2nd in MVP voting behind Kobe Bryant who averaged an amazing 35.7 points a game. But Kobe didn't win MVP either. Steve Nash who averaged only 18 points and 11 assists won MVP. THAT IS CRAZY. At least he has his own song!!

During Allen Iverson's career, he averaged 26.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 2.2 steals. A.I. is legendary. He is a hall of famer, 11 time All-Star, 2 time All-Star game MVP, 7 time All-NBA selection, and a 4 time scoring leader. Allen Iverson is one of the best basketball players the league has ever seen.
