Coach O Gets LSU Job

Coach O

There are fewer people who are more suited personality wise for a job in the country than Coach Ed Orgeron is for LSU.  LSU is known for having a cooky personality like Les Miles on the sidelines (just as the Saints have Sean Payton), and LSU fits that bill.  It really mirrors the personality of the state.  Where you the food has flavor as well as the people.  On top of that though, he proved  to be a pretty good coach.

Coach O took over a team who's offense struggled in all four games that Les Miles coached this season.  Once Coach O took over, the offense topped 400 yards in every game except for the big showdown with Bama.  And for all the criticism of the 10-0 loss to a team that his been steamrolling the competition (and the only touchdown was on a Jalen Hurts scramble that appeared to have some holding on the play).  The defense under Ed Orgeron was nothing but spectacular.

According to rumors, Coach O will keep Defensive Coordinator Dave Aranda on board which will make LSU a force to be reckoned with, but will also look to draw Lane Kiffin from Bama.  If he can get or a similarly innovative offensive mind, look for LSU to be one of the best teams in the country next year.

I like the pick, but only time will tell if it is the right one.  No one expected LSU to be as formidable to finish off the year.
