Mets pull even in seesaw battle with Nats

The Mets sent Steven Matz to the mound and he pitched well, despite getting pulled after 5 due to a high pitch count. JD Davis got the start over McNeil and proved early it was a good decision with a solo HR in the 4th. Then again in the 6th, Davis and Conforto blasted solo shots to make it 3-1. However Familia surrendered that lead in the 8th, allowing 3 runs to make it 5-3 Washington. The Mets showed their fight in the bottom half of the 8th inning, as Pete Alonso and Robbie Cano belted back to back bombs to tie the game, and Keon Broxton an RBI single to give the Mets the lead they would hold, to win 6-5. Tomorrow is the rubber game, and it'll be Scherzer and Wheeler to win the biggest game of the year so far.
