Mets take rubber game behind Harvey, Flores, and d'Arnaud

The Mets offense came back to life after taking a day off in last night's 3-1 defeat, with d'Arnaud hitting a 2-run opposite field double in the 5th to bring home Walker and Bruce. This put New York up 2-1. Then in the next inning, Wilmer Flores came up with a man on first. On the 7th pitch of the at bat hit a 2-2 hanging slider down the left field line that just snuck inside the foul pole to give the Mets a 4-1 lead. Wilmer's first long ball of the year gave the Mets all the run support they needed. Harvey gave up another solo shot to Kemp in the 7th to cut the lead to 4-2, but the Mets put up their 3rd crooked number in a row in the bottom half of the frame. Conforto came in to pinch hit, and got nicked on the shoe with the ball. Reyes singled up the middle for his first hit of the year. Then a single by Cabrera earned him his 2nd RBI of the year and Cespedes grounded into a fielder's choice and Reyes scored on the play to make it 6-2, the eventual final score. Overall, a solid team victory, with all the names you want to see on the stat sheet. Harvey is the first Mets starter to get a W, moving to 1-0 with an ERA of 2.70 for the year. The Mets are 2-1 and will welcome Miami to town for a 3 day weekend series. Speaking of the Marlins, it's never too early to root against the Nats, who fell to Miami 4-3 in 10 innings today. The Mets and Nats are both 2-1, with the other 3 division foes at 1-2.
